Triple Play is a suite of three Targeted Programs intentionally written to build the skills, attitudes, knowledge, and behaviors essential to an overall healthy lifestyle. Healthy eating, physical activity and relationship building are addressed in Healthy Habits, Daily Challenges and Social Recreation. Together, the programs help young people learn to sustain the health of the mind, body, and soul.
Social Recreation
The "Soul" component of the Triple Play program encompasses the social recreation activities that are critical to positive youth development. This new, targeted program builds the skills a young person needs to make healthy choices through cooperative, group-based activities that develop a young person's confidence in themselves and connection to others.
Triple Play Daily Challenges
Triple Play Daily Challenges is a program comprised of various activities that are meant to get kids moving and being physically active. Each unit focuses on a different skill set which can include everything from locomotive skills to yoga to foot and hand skills. This program is run all year at least once a week. This program helps youth to improve and feel comfortable with physical activities and the skillsets needed to be physically active.
Healthy Habits
Healthy Habits is a BGCA program that focuses on various health topics. This program is split based on age, but the general topics include nutrition, emotional and social health, and goal setting. This is run at least once a year for several weeks. The skills learned in these lessons and activities will help kids become healthier individuals for the rest of their lives.
